FC Bruno’s Magpies are delighted to announce that Warren Muscat has been appointed as their new Head Coach. Also appointed alongside him are new Assistant Coach Michael Macias and specialist Strength & Conditioning Coach Sally Holmes.

As a UEFA qualified coach, with a degree in Physical Education & vast experience working with clubs such as Hibernians, Gudja United, Luqa St Andrews & chairperson of multi sports club Agones SFC in Malta, Warren brings a wealth of coaching expertise & organisational capability to the club. He was brought into the club in January 2016 in a technical capacity to assist in the club’s restructuring & development. Having helped implement some of the new ideas throughout the organisation we are delighted Warren has now accepted the role as Head Coach and look forward to achieving success with him at the helm.

To assist Warren in running all First Team & Reserves affairs ex-Club Captain, Michael Macias has been appointed Assistant Coach.  Michael was our ‘Captain Fantastic’ last season, putting in a string of sterling performances as our Club Captain. He has been playing in Gibraltar Football since he was 16, playing for the likes of Chelsea FC & Sporting FC in his early days then moving on to College & Gibraltar United before joining the Magpies. He’s played Futsal and is also a Futsal referee, he’s even had a spell in the army! He’s hard working, disciplined, dedicated & commands the full respect of the players around him. He’s been planning to move into management & coaching after his playing career and we are excited to be able to offer him that opportunity.

Finally, South African expert Strength & Conditioning Coach Sally Holmes completes the coaching team.

Hailing from Randburg, South Africa, Sally Holmes moved to Gibraltar in 2002 working as a Gymnastics Coach. She has coached Senior Olympic standard gymnasts training one for the British Olympic Squad for the 2012 Games & took two gymnasts to the Commonwealth Games in 2010. She is currently coach to the GRGA Senior Gymnastic Squad.

Sally is also the Fitness, Conditioning & Stretching Coach with the Gibraltar Rugby Union National Team. She was previously Fitness & Conditioning Coach with Europa FC & travelled to Liechtenstein with them in their Europa League Qualifying match against Club FC Vaduz. She also assisted at Britannia FC last season. Sally’s experience has been gained at the highest level of elite sports and we eagerly look forward to her joining our Coaching Team & assisting in physically preparing our squad for the challenging season ahead.

Chairman Louis Perry commented: “We have made the decision that to improve on our performances and ‘kick on’ next season it is paramount that we work to improve fitness and conditioning, as well as technical & tactical ability. In Warren, Michael & Sally we believe we have a ‘Dream Team’ of specialist coaches who can help us achieve our desired success.”
