FC Bruno’s Magpies announce affiliation with London based Football Academy

FC Bruno’s Magpies has entered into an exclusive affiliation with the PU Academy, a South London football academy run by George Busumbru. The Academy has been the leader in moving players through the footballing system between the UK and Gibraltar in the last year.

George has been a footballing scout for clubs such as Barnet, Brentford and Wycombe Wanderers. He is currently working with Crystal Palace FC as Recruitment Scout for development phase academy players.

George set up the PU Academy in January 2013 aimed at the recruitment and coaching of young talented players in the U16, U18 and U21 age groups. The aim of the Academy is to help young players in their football development, provide them with quality coaching and guidance to prepare them for a career in the game.

The PU Academy has previous history with football in Gibraltar having, in the past, provided players to clubs such as Europa Point and Glacis United as well as FC Bruno’s Magpies. This exclusive affiliation is viewed as a major coup by Louis Perry, Chairman of FC Bruno’s Magpies. “We have worked with George and the PU Academy for a season now” commented Louis, “we have worked closely in trying to develop the players recruited from the Academy and that is set to continue under this new exclusive collaboration”

Louis added “We have recently recruited a new highly qualified team of coaching, fitness & player development coaches who will take our players to the next level. When George saw the player development programme we have put together to help the players at our Club he was convinced that our plans ran in parallel to those with PU Academy. We look forward to a long and mutually successful association with the PU Academy”.

George commented “This partnership will allow the players to gain much needed experience and game time. In previous seasons this has been a recipe for success with players finding themselves on trial or signing for professional clubs. Anderson Rene-Pinto (Cadiz, St Mirren, Yeovil Town FC, AFC Bournemouth), Sebastien Osei-Obengo (Dumbarton FC-signed), Patrick Motindo,(Stranrear FC), Devonte Totesaut (Yeovil Town, AFC Bournemouth) and Hafed Al-Droubi (AFC Bournemouth, Yeovil Town FC).”

He added “We at PUA are delighted to announce this partnership with Bruno’s. We hope that our players can develop under their management as we all work to the same goal which is ultimately securing the players a professional contract in the footballing world”.
